Luxury goods brand Bulgari have released a new fragrance for men called Bulgari Man Extreme.

Created by master perfumer Alberto Morillas, the Eau de Toilette features top notes including pink grapefruit, Calabrian bergamot and cactus pulp and heart notes of white freesia, Guatemalan cardamom and vegetal amber, whilst earthy notes of Haitian vetiver, balsa wood and Laotian benzoin complete the fragrance.

To promote the new product, Bulgari have released a short promotional video featuring Australian actor Eric Bana. In the black and white video, Bana is seen walking through an Italianette building. Viewers then see a slithering snake, a roaring lion and a large bird of prey looking down upon him from the sky.

However, all of the creatures decide against confronting him, we are left to assume due to the power of his chosen fragrance.

The first collection of Bvlgari Man fragrances was launched in 2010, also created by Alberto Morillas, who has worked with a vast number of other luxury brands including Calvin Klein, Carolina Herrera, Cartier, Giorgio Armani, Givenchy, Oscar de la Renta, Valentino, Versace and Yves Saint Laurent.

Bulgari Man Extreme will be available nationwide from next week onwards, priced at £60 (100ml) and £45 (60ml).

Aramis Perfume With Calligraphy Rose

Since the year 2009, Aramis, a sub-division of the Estée Lauder cos. have been discreetly revamping their luxury image. We think we can all agree that Aramis had been more about approachable luxury, but then in 2009 they proposed a Gentleman's Collection which was their archival perfumes rebottled with a classic, old-world twist, image-wise. Then last year, they launched a Middle-East exclusive, Calligraphy and this year it is followed up by Perfume Calligraphy Rose. Suddenly, the name of Aramis is starting to sound more upscale not by accident but by design...

Trudi Loren who developed both Calligraphy and the new Calligraphy Rose, an unisex, said,

“I created this fragrance for those who seek to combine rich tradition with modern sophistication,” explained The Estée Lauder Companies, Corporate Vice President, Corporate Fragrance Development Worldwide Trudi Loren. “It’s a masterful blend of the most precious balms and resins handcrafted around a unique quality of Turkish rose absolute.” 

Words like "precious" and "unique" as well as this emphasis on the "Queen of all flowers" reveal a more luxury-oriented approach.

The composition features top notes of saffron, honeysuckle petals and oregano, leading to a heart of Turkish rose absolute, myrrh, styrax and French lavender before resting on Labdanum, musk, ambergris and olibanum.

Like for the previous flacon, the label is designed by Lebanese artist calligrapher Tarek Atrissi who wrote the word "rose" in Arabic this time.

The 100 ml eau de parfum will debut at Dubai airport in May 2013 before going to travel retail locations throughout the Middle East region.

Dodging perfume bombs And Body Odor

What on Earth is that smell? My nose can’t take it. Maybe I’ll just stop breathing for now.

    As high school students, we've all been there. You’re walking innocently down the hallways and your nose is greeted by the utmost disgusting smell- body odor with the occasional perfume bomb trying to cover it up. It’s a mixture that makes your nose want to shrivel up and die. It’s a smell that sends a shutter down your back and scars you for life; you’ll never forget it.

    The best thing for your nose is to avoid the hallways where this is a common smell. You know there are multiple ways to class; don’t take the smelliest hallway to class just because it’s the shortest route. Save your nose, after all, you do have 5 minutes of passing time between classes.

    Time really is of the essence for some students and five minutes isn’t enough for the safe smelling way to your next class, protect and prepare yourself. An average human can go one whole minute without breathing. Utilize that fact, as you are dreadfully approaching the worst smelling hall in the school, don’t breathe. Take in a large breath before the smell comes. This will save your nose and some trauma later on in your life.
