Elie Saab Le Parfum L'Eau Couture (2014) {New Perfume}

Elie Saab will launch their fourth perfume to date this spring 2014 called L'Eau Couture, a new flanker to Le Parfum (2011). The composition is signed by perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, the creator of the couturier's debut fragrance...

The eau de toilette is said to be a reworking of the orange blossom note which characterizes the original fragrance. A green note of raw almond has been added, a fact which is reflected in the new color of the jus. And while the scent is lighter it is reportedly not just a fresh eau.

19 Fiendishly Stylized Disney Villain Perfume Bottles

When it comes to beloved Disney characters, fans of the antagonists have had a rough go of it. From the scrapped villain-centric Dark Kingdom park at Disney World to the princesses overshadowing the Disney Villain's comparatively paltry line of merchandise, finding the right way to show loyalty to the bad guy is a challenge. Into this void steps Ruby Spark. An artist in Japan, she first put her design up on Pixiv — think of it as a Japanese of DeviantArt — before getting picked up by Cartoon Brew. If Disney has any sense, they'll bring her on board and start production with some perfumers like yesterday.

#1: I defy you tell me you aren't coveting this Lady Tremaine bottle for all your 'Cinderella' needs. I bet it smells like gardenias and disdain.

#2: Take this Prince John bottle for example. The 'Robin Hood' antagonist might smell of rosemary and temper tantrums.

After perfume balls, Dale Steyn gives India lip

On Thursday at the Wanderers, a fired-up Dale Steyn bowled 11 deliveries to Virat Kohli, who scored 11 runs off those. The South African pacer had the bigger say off the first half a dozen, before the combative right-hander hit him for back-to-back fours. The outcome: probably all square.

Having delivered a potent reminder of the damage that he is capable of inflicting a couple of days earlier, Steyn had come out and sounded a warning to the entire Indian camp, insisting that things were only about to get nastier for the visitors. Much like he did during the first ODI, Kohli handled the verbal bout with composure.

"I didn't see many of our guys walking off the field with bloody fingers or ice packs on ribs, so it definitely was a wake-up call for the Indians. It's not Mumbai where the ball doesn't get higher than the stumps. It's going to be hard to play here," said Steyn. But Kohli wasn't having any of it.

"I mean off the fourth ball, I was down the wicket. It is not about getting frightened, he is a quality bowler and we all know that and we should be good enough to tackle that and come up with the goods when we face him. I don't think anyone in this Indian team is frightened of anything," Kohli said. "Regardless of the loss the other day, you didn't see anyone sort of closing their eyes or swinging their bats."

Friends off it

Steyn, though, acknowledge that India still had the potential to fight back, making special mention of his 'good friend' Kohli and his ability with the bat. But even his appreciation was tongue-in-cheek. "Virat Kohli can bat. I know him well. And even though he couldn't lay bat on ball the other night, Rohit is still a very good player," he said.

Neil and John in 'The Key' Go Head to Head With Justin Bieber

There's funny. And there's funny. And then there's WTF?!

Welcome to the world of Neil & John -- they being Neil Hopkins of LOST fame, and John Forest of Young Adult fame. They're weird. They're wacky. They're popular onFunnyOrDie.com and their own site and their YouTube channel. And their new epic short ("epic short"?) will -- trust me: will -- leave a mark on your mind.

"Neil & John in: The Key" represents the newest episode of Neil & John. This one's got industry folks talking and sharing, in a way I haven't seen since some Colorado yokels called Trey & Matt long ago let slip a few VHS dubs of "The Spirit of Christmas (Jesus Vs. Santa)" -- thus launching a modest little TV series called South Park.

As with all good secrets (this short is in fact a goof on The Secret), the spiritual awakening of "The Key" lies in the experience itself -- not in some journalist telling you about it -- thus find it here for your viewing pleasure:

Neil & John: THE KEY

In a shocking act of lame-o copycatting, it seems rather suspicious that some kid named Justin Bieber (?) has made a desperate attempt to ride on the coattails of "Neil & John in: The Key" with his own sad little product (a perfume or something) -- also called "The Key." This Bieber kid, whomever he is (scouring the Web suggests that he's a minor player in the perfume business), even rushed into production on some sort of commercial -- pardon: "short film" -- also called (you guessed it) "The Key." Bieber's perfume even has its own smartphone app, because obviously a perfume needs a smartphone app. Google it if you want. Or actually, don't; for Bieber's "The Key" withers in contrast to "Neil & John in: The Key."

Uzbek first daughter strikes back at recent claims

Uzbek president’s much-talked-about daughter Gulnara Karimova responds to the media hype around her family feuds and recent struggles in face of ongoing financial investigations, saying her share of power in Uzbekistan has been mostly exaggerated

A couple of years ago, the Turkish actor Halit Ergenç was the face of your perfume ‘Guli/Victorius.’ What made you choose a Turkish actor to be the face of your product? Turkish series are quite in demand lately; who are your favorite Turkish shows and actors?

Last October for Style.uz we had Halit Ergenç as a guest of honor and that was so difficult to do, so I can imagine that “Muhteşem Yüzyıl” [The Magnificent Century] and him as a star of it unbelievably famous. I started to watch Muhteşem Yüzyıl absolutely by chance. I was sick home and my friend suggested I watch it. I had never watched even one series on CD and never was into it, but I think that this one should be named one of the best in terms of complex of eastern nature so well played by actors, historic atmosphere which doesn’t push you into depression but just gives you a little sip of it and the most intriguing story behind each of the episode. Funny or not, but nothing has changed through hundreds of years until now and each move of each character in that series could be transported one to one on those who live and play their games around the head of the state with only one goal to get bigger and richer, including family undercover fights.

Good thing that I started to see that TV story long before of what is happening now, otherwise I would have thought that the modern world and our family relations were going crazy. But the politics has always been the dirtiest thing in the world, destroying so many and offering so much to profit for just few in life around the world.

'My slogan? Make perfume, not war'

Most women have a signature scent that expresses an aspect of their character. But imagine, if you can, a fragrance that conveys humanity, compassion, joy and every other fundamental emotion; love, hope and forgiveness, a deep longing for peace, an instinctive compulsion to reach out to those in need. Afghan Orange Blossom is just such a perfume. So too is Vetiver of Haiti; Middle East Peace (which combines grapefruit from Israel and lime from Iran) speaks for itself. These gorgeous scents are made from flower and other essences farmed on land where there is conflict or devastation.

The brand is The 7 Virtues and it’s a uniquely intriguing concept; the story of how they came to be made, by Canadian mother-of-two Barb Stegemann, 44, is no less extraordinary.

In 2006, Barb’s best friend Trevor Greene, a captain in the Canadian forces in Afghanistan,
was taking part in a peaceful discussion with village elders about how clean water and healthcare could be brought to the area. He had taken off his helmet as a gesture of goodwill, when a 16-year-old boy came up behind him and struck the back of his head with an axe. ‘It was horrific,’ says Barb. ‘Onlookers said his brains were falling out of the hole in his skull. Somehow he got emergency treatment and was flown to Germany, where his skull was rebuilt, and then transferred to Vancouver.’ The assailant had been killed by another member of the platoon.

Fragrance of the Week: Paul Smith Portrait For Men

Since getting into the perfume business at the turn of the century Paul Smith has put his name to over 30 fragrances for both men and women, often created with the help of some of the sharpest noses in the business. Now the man is back with a new collaborator - magnificently hirsute model and perfumier Barnabe Fillion, who has previously featured in Smith's ad campaigns.

This scent has been created by drawing on the designer's experiences while travelling, not just in the bottle (which is supposedly a mash-up of a water flask and a camera), but also in the essences spliced up inside: cardamom and pink pepper from Indian spice markets, myhrr from Moroccan souks and green tea from Japan, all held together with woody undertones of cedar and Tolu balsam. Fresh, masculine and warm, but not heavy, all in all it's the kind of easy-to-wear scent that is going to fit whatever dress code the day demands.

Kerry Washington - Kerry Washington's roles inspired by perfume

Kerry Washington says perfume helps her get into character.

The 36-year-old star switches up her scent every time she is cast in a new role to help her embody the new part, and goes for a simple yet chic fragrance to play high powered political fixer Olivia Pope in hit show 'Scandal'.

She told People magazine: ''Whenever I play a different character I change my scent. Perfume can really set a tone or a mood in a room. Olivia needs to be neutral in the workplace.''

Kerry has recently been unveiled as the new face of skincare brand Neutrogena and believes the role is perfect for her because her acting work has given her a real understanding of make-up.

She said: ''I live and work in makeup so I have a perspective on how a lip colour works after eight hours on the set or an hour on the red carpet ... I'm so grateful for the hairstylist and makeup artist on ['Scandal']. I roll out of bed at 4 a.m. and sit in the chair at 4:30 and they transform me into that person.''

Kerry - who will star in Neutrogena's new campaign as well as being the company's creative consultant - thinks the job is a natural fit as she is passionate about all things beauty.

The brunette stunner enthused: ''I will not go to bed with makeup on so it's great to have a product that will get it off without leaving my skin too oily or dry. Now I can be on an adventure with my fans where I'll be able to hear feedback on the products.''

Iconic Miss Dior fragrance to get its own museum exhibit in Paris

The first perfume created by Christian Dior in 1947 is, 66 years later, an olfactory icon and the subject of a special retrospective exhibit at the Galerie Courbe of Paris's Grand Palais, from November 13 to 25.

The exhibition "Esprit Dior, Miss Dior" turns the spotlight on the French brand's signature fragrance as well as on the history of Dior and the couturier's sources of inspiration and artistic influences.

For the exhibition, 15 female artists were asked to create a work that touches upon some aspect of the emblematic fragrance, drawing inspiration from the bottle and its bow, the juice itself or the face of Miss Dior, Natalie Portman.

As well as recounting the story of Miss Dior, the exhibition delves into the history of the couture house through a presentation of archival documents and photos and Dior couture gowns.

"Esprit Dior, Miss Dior" runs November 13-25 at the Grand Palais, Paris.

Christina Aguilera Reveals Unforgettable Fragrance Ad And Full Commercial

Things that are unforgettable: your first kiss, your first concert, the first time you saw Harry Styles shirtless, your first job, your first love, the second time you saw Harry Styles shirtless, Christina Aguilera’s new perfume. (OK, so that last one was a smidge more literal than the rest.) Back in August, Xtina teased some “fragrance news” via Twitter with a mysterious photo that showed the bleach-blonde pop star shushing the camera in a sexy lace dress. And now we finally know alllll about it!

The singular shot is a still from her just-released commercial for Unforgettable, the singer’s fifth perfume -- and, according to Aguilera, "is for women who want to be irresistible, feel sexy & glamorous.” SIGN US UP! If a new perfume is all it takes to be all of those things, then we are SO in. Unforgettable starts with smells of cashmere, vanilla and tonka absolute at its base, adds night blooming jasmine and turkish rose at the "heart," and is finished with the scents of plum and pomegranate. So good, you could eat it. (But don't.)

The ads themselves are sultry and bare and basically personify our desire to be irresistible, sexy and glamorous. Nice work, Xtina. You got us. The commercial features a mystery man with a SERIOUS set of abs (perhaps its her beau, Matthew Rutler?), and Aguilera, who caresses the dude, laughs and looks longingly into the camera while holding a lace fan. Is it getting hot in here or is it just us? The bottle is tall, sleek and also covered in lace, which, when paired with bombshells such as ourselves, equals HAWT. Hehe. (We hope.)

Inter Parfums to Run Oscar de la Renta's Fragrance Line

Fragrance maker Inter Parfums Inc. (IPAR) disclosed it agreed to acquire some of fashion designer Oscar de la Renta's fragrance assets, taking over production and distribution for a division that has been operated in house since 2009.

Inter Parfums is set to become the latest in a string of companies that have owned Mr. de la Renta's fragrance license. Past owners have included Avon Products Inc. (AVP) and L'Oreal SA (OR.FR, LRLCY).

Terms of the deal, set to close in the beginning of December, weren't disclosed. Upon completion of the deal, Mr. de la Renta will no longer directly operate a fragrance and beauty division.

Mr. de la Renta has been in the fragrance business for decades; first launching his signature scent in 1977, becoming one of the first American designers to do so. But between 2005 and 2010, de la Renta fragrance sales fell some 39%, while the fashion house saw its top line jump.

Since the fragrance arm was brought in house in 2009, de la Renta sought to shrink the brand's exposure, update packaging and launch new products.

"Over the last few years, we are pleased to have re-established Oscar de la Renta as an important brand in prestige fragrances," said Oscar de la Renta LLC Chief Executive Alex Bolen.

Mr. Bolen said with the division on firmer footing, the deal with Inter Parfums would help bolster growth in the U.S. and abroad.

Shares of Inter Parfums were inactive premarket. The stock has jumped 64% in 2013, easily outperforming the broader market's gain.

Former NYC ‘real housewife’ launching fragrance

Kelly Killoren Bensimon, the former star of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of New York City,” is launching her first fragrance for Original Scent, named In the Spirit Of.

In the spirit of what, exactly? The name was inspired by her book, In the Spirit of the Hamptons, about the famous chichi playground for the elite. But, says Bensimon, the scent "should always be in the spirit of you."

If the fragrance’s promotions, in which she radiates her signature smile, are any indication, it’s a likely winner.

The perfume, which has tuberose, musk and some carnation in it, is a sexy, warm scent, says Bensimon, who describes herself as “scent obsessed.”

“I recognize fragrance is not democratic; everyone has their own DNA. I sprayed this on my hair, and four girls were like, ‘This smells sooo good!’ ”

The 45-year-old New Yorker became obsessed with perfumes as a model in Paris, where she fell in love with the city's floral shops and the arrangements she'd see in the ateliers of Karl Lagerfeld, Valentino, and other designers. When she met scent guru Sarah Horowitz, the two decided to collaborate. After just minutes of mixing and matching scents, In the spirit of was created.

The new fragrance launches on OpenSky.com Nov. 1.

Nicole Winnaman, the founder of Original Scent, projects sales between $6 million and $10 million next year.

Katie Price upsets fans after bailing on perfume signing early

Mum-of-four Katie Price trekked all the way to Bolton to sign bottles of her Kissable perfume in none other than glam central - Tesco - only to bail less than half an hour later, leaving some fans with perfume bottles sans her million dollar signature.

One upset Katie fan wrote: "She turned up 40 minutes late, and left at 3pm. She always says she never leaves without signing everyone."

While another said: "Katie Price, cheers for the dirty look. Waited in the line, bought your perfume and were told you weren't signing anymore."

According to The Bolton News, less than 30 people queued, which would explain A LOT. Apparently Katie refused to go out onto the shop floor to do signings and instead did them in the private room she was in, before packing up altogether.

But, glamazon Katie, who had baby son Jett with her, told fans she had to leave early because her tiny tot had taken ill.

"Sorry guys im here at my signing Jetts got a Cold not well so just settling him #workingmummultitasking," she wrote on Twitter.

We're just disappointed that the fetching pink fake car front, which she was supposed to be sat in front of got dismantled before it had its rightful moment in the spotlight.

See it in all its glory here...

New Fragrance: Illamasqua Freak Scarab (2013)

British makeup brand Illamasqua have launched a new perfume baptized Freak Scarab. It is their second release following up on Freak (2011) introducing a new composition whose only common olfactory signature with the former are the presence of a thick and dark davana note and queen of the night. Otherwise, the formula differs. Part of the name remains...

The name of the new scent takes inspiration from the strange, perpetual-and-proud-Halloween feel of the brand, alluding this time to a symbol of the Ancient Egyptians, the scarab or dung beetle embodying a cycle of eartly transformation paralelling heavenly transformation.

"Freak Scarab is the decadent new fragrance from Illamasqua. A unisex Extrait De Parfum, it enchants. Captivates. Corrupts."

"Let the age of indulgence be reborn"

You can also note that the famous vintage perfume base called "mousse de saxe" is featured in a modern adaptation form, which should be appealing to perfume wearers who prefer heftier fragrances like the Caron perfumes known for this famous perfumery base

Marilyn Monroe Finally Becomes The Face Of Her Favourite Perfume

It's no secret that Marilyn Monroe was not a fan of the pyjama. The actress famously said in an interview in 1952 that she wore "five drops of Chanel No. 5" and nothing else in bed. "I don't want to say nude," she said, "but it's the truth."

Although she did not appear in ads for Chanel No. 5 during her lifetime, Marilyn might just be perfume's best-known ambassador. And now, more than five decades later, Chanel is tapping into its most famous fan by featuring her in an ad campaign for the fragrance.

Marilyn is the 2013 face of the perfume, and her photos will appear in upcoming TV and print ad campaigns, and we have to admit that she's is a vast improvement on the previous batch of Chanel No. 5 ads featuring a certain Mr Jolie...

So how did it come about? Chanel apparently discovered an unreleased recording of the actress discussing her nocturnal habits, and that famous quote. Watch the video below to hear the original recording.
