Masik Collegiate Fragrances Introduces School-Spirited Scents

 Masik Collegiate Fragrances

Ever had a scent remind you of school? Masik, a fragrance line for colleges, recently developed a collection that takes beauty lovers back to their undergrad and graduate days.

The brand's one-of-a-kind eau de toilettes are designed to make one recall the memories, traditions, sporting events and hours on campus that made college special. Masik worked with some of the biggest universities in the country, from Florida State, to Texas A & M, to Penn State. Their goal, you ask? The rising company wanted to create an official men's cologne and women's perfume for each school.

CEO Katie Masik explained just why the bouquets make the perfect presents. "People, myself included, are uniquely passionate about their Alma Maters, and about the college/university in their community, which is why I believe your school's signature scent is the perfect gift for the student, alumni or fan in your life," explained Katie in a PR Newswire press release.

What sets Masik's fragrances apart from others is that they are inspired by unique elements of each school. The colors, campus style, flowers, trees, traditions and locations all served as muses. The burgeoning business created these scents by pitching their perfumers a 'fragrance brief' that outlined these "school-specific" elements, such as pictures of the university's students. Once they zeroed in on scent options, each university conducted sessions to determine which aromas they like best.

Women and men can treat themselves to the brand's 1.7 oz./50 ml bottle for $39.50. To purchase the fragrances, visit Masik's online shop at Masik.com. You can also track down the bouquets at Belk's department store and on their website, as well as search for a local retailer. The best mens fragrances of 2013

best men's fragrances 2013

I can’t honestly say 2013 has been the most inspiring year for new men’s fragrance launches. Most have been safe, uninspiring and derivative, but there are a few that have kicked up a bit of a stink (in a good way). So here are five definitely worth asking the man with the white beard to plonk under your pine.

For young guys and sporty types:
Paco Rabanne Invictus, £41.50 for 50ml eau de toilette, from theperfumeshop.com
Following up a success story like 1 Million, a bottle of which is sold every 5 seconds, was never going to be easy, ,but Paco Rabanne appeared to have lifted the trophy with Invictus. Going straight to number one on the bestseller list it’s been by far the biggest launch of the year. Woody but invigorating too, with a bracing marine freshness, it has a much sportier feel than its predecessor but it’s the eye-catching flacon, rather than the fragrance, that’s the real winner here.

For the modern gentleman:

Annick Goutal Eau De Monsieur, £80 for 100ml eau de toilette, from Selfridges.com
Originally launched in the 1980s, this fragrance by boutique perfumer Annick Goutal’s Monsieur has been tweaked and given a whole new lease of life for 2013 – and very welcome it is too. Delicate, sherbety and summery with super-fresh notes of mandarin, mint and geranium, and a slightly bitter herbal vibe, it’s elegant, light and gentlemanly. A perfect choice for men who want a fragrance that’s subtle rather than an olfactory sledgehammer.

Paul Walker's Davidoff Cool Water Ad Airs During UK Soccer Game, Fragrance Company Apologizes

Davidoff

A commercial for Davidoff Cool Water cologne starring Paul Walker aired in the U.K. on Sunday, Dec.1, during a high-profile soccer match and some fans were understandably outraged.

After all, it was shown less than a day after the 40-year-old actor died in a fiery car accident.

In the wake of the controversy, the company behind the fragrance said in a statement to E! News, "Coty, Inc., the global beauty company that has worked closely with Paul Walker, is saddened to hear the news of his sudden death. As the face of Davidoff Cool Water, Paul contributed to the National Geographic 'Love the Ocean' campaign, whose mission is to protect the ocean. His talent, generosity and passion for giving back were admirable."

"We send our deepest and most sincere condolences to Paul's family, friends and fans around the world," noted CEO Michele Scannavini in the statement. "We are working quickly to suspend all of our ads featuring Paul out of respect to his family and friends. We apologize for any upset that may have been caused by those that were aired subsequent to his death."

The ad itself was shot a few years ago, but Walker continued to serve as the face for the fragrance, having done a photo shoot as recently as September for a new campaign.

Walker also had deals in Brazil with brands Colcci and Renault.

"Colcci deeply regrets the untimely death of Paul Walker and conveys condolences to your entire family," a statement (translated) on the company's Facebook page read, "In two campaigns he worked for the brand, the last picture a month ago in New York, he stood by professionalism, kindness and generosity with which treated everyone."

After perfume balls, Dale Steyn gives India lip

On Thursday at the Wanderers, a fired-up Dale Steyn bowled 11 deliveries to Virat Kohli, who scored 11 runs off those. The South African pacer had the bigger say off the first half a dozen, before the combative right-hander hit him for back-to-back fours. The outcome: probably all square.

Having delivered a potent reminder of the damage that he is capable of inflicting a couple of days earlier, Steyn had come out and sounded a warning to the entire Indian camp, insisting that things were only about to get nastier for the visitors. Much like he did during the first ODI, Kohli handled the verbal bout with composure.

"I didn't see many of our guys walking off the field with bloody fingers or ice packs on ribs, so it definitely was a wake-up call for the Indians. It's not Mumbai where the ball doesn't get higher than the stumps. It's going to be hard to play here," said Steyn. But Kohli wasn't having any of it.

"I mean off the fourth ball, I was down the wicket. It is not about getting frightened, he is a quality bowler and we all know that and we should be good enough to tackle that and come up with the goods when we face him. I don't think anyone in this Indian team is frightened of anything," Kohli said. "Regardless of the loss the other day, you didn't see anyone sort of closing their eyes or swinging their bats."

Friends off it

Steyn, though, acknowledge that India still had the potential to fight back, making special mention of his 'good friend' Kohli and his ability with the bat. But even his appreciation was tongue-in-cheek. "Virat Kohli can bat. I know him well. And even though he couldn't lay bat on ball the other night, Rohit is still a very good player," he said.

Making Sense of Scents: Fragrance tips for savvy shoppers

The fall-winter season is upon us. The chill in the air signifies that it is time for a change in wardrobe choices. We put away our lightweight linen trousers, tank tops and flip-flops and opt for chunkier sweaters, skinny jeans and boots.

Of course, no outfit is truly complete without its main companion — a great scent.

According to the maven of all things fashionable, Coco Chanel, “A woman who doesn’t wear perfume has no future.”

Though this is not a foregone conclusion, why take the chance?
SCENT SELECTION

Visiting a department store’s fragrance counter can be as daunting as climbing Kilimanjaro.
We are faced with images of designer-clad sex-symbols who want us to believe that all need to be like Charlize Theron in a Dior J’Adore ad is a spritz of scented magic. Forget the personal trainer, dieting and team of stylists and makeup artists that help bring this image to fruition.

When Helaine Gottschalk went shopping for a fragrance other than her beloved Eternity by Calvin Klein, she did so by teaming with fragrance experts Amanda Dabney, Lynda Sims and Manisha Argawal at Belk in Cordova Mall.

Gottschalk is a savvy shopper and had an idea of what she was looking for — a fragrance that allowed her to transition from her everyday routine to special events without much fanfare.

“I really don’t give any consideration to time of day, occasion, etc. Probably because I don’t like the heavy, overpowering ‘night time’ fragrances. My choices are lighter ‘go everywhere’ scents,’’ said Gottschalk, a Long Term Care Insurance Specialist.

She also knew that she wanted something that was either, floral, green or “spicy.”

THE NOSE KNOWS

The Sense of Olfactory (smell) is a very powerful one because it can transport one back to a certain time and place and create nostalgia, evoke a specific feeling or conjure a memory.

For Gottschalk, this is especially true.

“I know that I lean toward the floral, green, warm spicy scents because my mother wore that combination,” she says. This combination reminds her of the Shocking, by Schiaparelli, a fragrance her mother favored.

Olympic Orchid’s Siam Proun: An Earthy, Floral, Fall Fragrance

From the moment I signed up for Olfactif, a monthly perfume subscription box service, my nose has been in heaven. I could barely pick a favorite scent from my July and August collections, and September’s box did not disappoint. This time, however, picking a favorite was easy — the orange blossom, lavender, and mint notes highlighted in this highly concentrated and long lasting scent make me feel nostalgic for the present day in the best way possible. Priced at $65 for 30ml, Olympic Orchid’s Siam Proun is an instant classic.

According to Olfactif:

“Siam Proun is a radiant oriental fragrance, a Mediterranean garden atop a bright, rich, amber base. It is named after a villa in the south of France where perfumer Ellen Covey spent time with her family as a teenager, and recalls the scent of herbs and flowers carried on the seaside breeze.”

I mean … who doesn't want to smell like that?

Sports teams jumping into perfume business

Dressing rooms have a distinct fragrance. Pungent. Fetid. I could go on at great length and detail here, but at some point, and rather quickly, the words alone might make you toss this week’s “Second Thought” in the trash can, grab a bar of Irish Spring, and bolt for the shower.

Smell, it turns out, is turning into big business in the sports industry. Specifically, the individual scents of teams. Not everyone out there conjures up the odor of mold, Desenex, cheap beer, greasy grilled hot dogs, and stale cigar smoke when they imagine the distinct olfactory quality of their favorite club.

Just over a year ago, the Yankees, a team currently trying to rid the stink of Alex Rodriguez from their dressing room, unveiled their branded scent. Sure, go ahead, laugh. Eau de Bronx Bombers. The scent of Sabathia. Pettitte parfum No. 5. Hey, men, don’t you dare leave the Yankee pro shop without a tube of Mousse Skowron! Just a little Mousse’ll do ya.

Well, according to a recent SportsBusiness Journal report by Terry Lefton, the Yankee scent has produced $10 million in retail business since its debut in April 2012. With the Yanks’ payroll up around $200 million, that may seem merely a drop in the spittoon, but that’s $10 million made out of thin air, or wherever and however perfume is made. All revenue streams gladly accepted.

Granted, I should know how baseball perfume is produced, but I’m still having trouble calculating hardball metrics such as WAR and WHIP and OBP. If she hasn’t done so already, it’s a good bet the Globe’s Meredith Goldstein can tackle the manufacturing angle in her “Love Letters’’ column. Heck, Meredith may already have her own “Mending Hearts’’ scent for all I know. Meredith, if you don’t, ol’ Owe

Mercedes-Benz' flagship sedan comes with perfume

Wearing perfume as well as a heavenly host of safety and convenience features, the new Mercedes-Benz flagship sedan made its world debut for journalist drivers here this week.

No kidding. In what is claimed to be a first among luxury cars, the 2014 Mercedes S-Class offers a $350 option that wafts perfume through the car. A small container fits into a receptacle inside the glove compartment and becomes part of the automatic climate control system.

Called "active perfuming," it adjusts the smell of the car's interior for mi'lady or her gentleman. It can be turned on and off manually, and adjusted to suit the owner's tastes.

There are four mood scents: Nightlife, Sports, Downtown and Fireside. Of course, the owner can substitute his or her own perfume, cologne and, presumably, shaving lotion. The system atomizes the perfume and distributes it throughout the passenger area.

"It neither changes the interior smell permanently, nor are perfume molecules deposited on fabric surfaces or clothing," Mercedes-Benz said in a statement. "The fragrance is discreet and mild, and dissipates rapidly."

Active perfuming is but one of many innovative features, including a system that automatically stops the car before it hits a pedestrian and a night vision camera that can distinguish between humans and animals. The new S-Class also is said to be the first to use light emitting diodes (LEDs) exclusively inside and outside of the car instead of incandescent bulbs. There are nearly 400 in all.

The 2014 S550 sedan, in two- and four-wheel drive versions with 455-horsepower V8 engines, goes on sale in the United States in the fall. Prices are expected to range from nearly $100,000 to more than $200,000, depending on the model and options.

Smelling Notre Dam New Fragrance

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The smell of Notre Dame doesn't come cheap.

University licensing Director Michael Low tells the South Bend Tribune that that the Cloudbreak Group is working with Steiner Collectibles to develop the fragrances.

Low says ND Gold Eau De Toilette for men and Lady Irish Eau De Parfum will be available this fall, with 3.4-ounce bottles expected to retail for $62. The ND Gold for men and the Lady Irish Eau De for women are expected to sell for $62 for a 3.4-ounce bottle. The fragrance will also be featured in women’s shower gel and body lotion; men’s hair and body wash; aftershave; hand sanitizer; and lip balm.

Low says Notre Dame encourages its licensing partners to develop innovative products of high quality that are not commonly available.

Alyssa Atzeff, marketing director for the The Cloudbreak Group, said the appeal of these school-specific brands comes from the emotional connection developed to the tight-knit university.

“When you wear a fragrance, you are embodying the essence, status, and spirit of that brand,” she told ABC News via e-mail. “Students, alumni, and fans exhibit a powerful connection to their universities, a passion that can be extended through the creation of the Notre Dame fragrance.”

The Sports Business Daily first reported on the Notre Dame fragrance line earlier this week. It reported that Cloudbreak has built the Yankees scent into a brand worth more than $10 million since rolling it out last spring.

A&M Texas Pride Perfume Hits Shelves

Coming soon, you won't have to walk across campus under the Texas sun or spend a night at Northgate to smell like Texas A&M.

The university will have its own official perfume and cologne come fall, and officials say it will actually smell quite nice -- with floral and fruity aromatics.

A&M spokesman and top marketing guru Shane Hinckley acknowledged the jokes on social media about what the Aggie products might smell like, but said he expects the scents to sell well.

"It's meant to be serious, but not too serious," Hinckley said. "We know you could 'insert joke here.' We expected to have some lighthearted moments with this, but the reality is we had several female employees that were really surprised, really liked it and are definitely buying it when it comes out."

The Aggie cologne and perfume, which will hit shelves by Aug. 18, are produced by New York City-based company Masik. The company, founded in 2008, already produces scents for 11 universities and six more will be released around the same time as A&M. The other universities are heavy hitters in the college athletics world and are almost exclusively members of the Southeastern and Athletic Coast conferences.

The process for determining what to put in the perfumes was actually somewhat complex, Hinckley said.
Katie Masich, president of Masik, described the factors that went into deciding what smelled like A&M. School colors played a large part, she said -- citing deep red aromatics such as apples or rose and crisp white smells such as vanilla.

Masich said traditions also played a key role and that the scents drew inspiration from the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band, the Muster ceremony, Aggie rings and the Century Tree.

5 Summer Colognes That Won’t Overpower Your Senses

Summer is almost here friends, which means it may be time to switch out that cologne you love so much. Stronger scents may be fine in the colder months, but when it gets hot and sweaty and crowded, the last thing anyone wants to smell is overpowering cologne. So, with this in mind, here are five lighter scents that are perfect for summer.
o.9375
Marc Jacobs Men
Perhaps the best cologne for the warmer months, Marc’s woodsy scent uses notes of masculine florals and figs, which smell amazing. It was the first scent the designer ever produced for men, after the success of his feminine fragrances, and it’s safe to say he got it right on the first try. ($70, 4.2 oz Eau de Toilette Spray)
FIRSTCLASS-MAGAZINE-PRADA-LUNA-ROSSA
Prada Luna Rossa
The newest men’s fragrance from Prada is sporty but light, with some more feminine notes like lavender and orange essence. It is not too pungent, but will stay with you all day, something that makes a big difference in the summer. ($82, 3.4 oz Eau de Toilette Spray)
Bvlgari-PourHommeSoirColognebyBv
Bvlgari Por Homme
For all you brokers and bankers, this 15-year-old scent from the folks at luxury brand Bvlgari has got all the scent staples you love, musk, amber, dry woods, but is not too overpowering. Perfect for those weekends in the Hamps after a day on the boat. ($59, 1.7 oz Eau de Toilette Spray)
11dd35_dgm
Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Living Stromboli
We’ll admit, the name of this limited edition run of the popular Light Blue cologne brings to mind the fragrance of fried dough and sauce, but it is actually a reference to the Stromboli province on the coast of Italy. A relaxing, seaside getaway, just the kind of thing this scent brings to mind — after you smell it is. ($60, 2.5 oz Eau de Toilette Spray)
PRFM-195915
Flight Sport by Michael Jordan
For those who don’t want to break the bank on a new scent this summer, Mr. Jordan actually has just the answer with his Flight Sport scent, offering notes of lavender, vanilla and patchouli and, perhaps more shockingly, being one of the few celeb scents that actually smells good. Who knew?

Virginia Tech's Trying to Figure Out What a Hokie Smells Like for New Fragrance Line

Elizabeth Taylor has White Diamonds, Britney Spears has Fantasy, and now Virginia Tech, well they'll soon have a whole new line of fragrances as well. What I can only imagine will smell like blood, sweat, tears, and a dash of engineering prowess, students at Virginia Tech can now look forward to smelling exactly like their peers this August. Yes, Masik Collegiate Fragrances is working with the Blacksburg bookstore to bring perfumes and colognes to Hokie fans who crave the musk of their athletic idols and glorified alums.

Masik Collegiate Fragrances set up shop in the Virginia Tech bookstore on Friday, equipped with countless bottles of potential Hokie scents. All of the samples were named after various traditions, with tastes like "Skipper," "VT Strong," and "Hokie Triump," according to Gamedayr. Students had the chance to walk in, test the scents, and vote on their favorites for what will be the next fan merchandise of choice.

The Guardian launches own-brand perfume

Guardian News: “We wanted something that smelled like an Apple – the computer, not the fruit,” says fragrance developer Marsha Welks, “with a hint of free-trade coffee, the aroma of an organic veg box and that warm, intimate feeling of psychological analysis.”

Following the successful launch of it’s own coffee shop, The Guardian is to branch out into consumer goods, starting with their own-brand perfume, G-spot.

Designed for The Guardian reader “who likes a light sprinkling of liberalism all over their views,” it’s hoped that the perfume and the coffee shop will help to boost profits as circulation figures continue to drop.

“The G-spot is everywhere,” says The Guardian’s new head of Branded Product Relations Development, Jeremy de la Boltine.

“It’s in all shapes and sizes. It’s in G-units. It’s G-lobal. Yes it’s sexy, yes it’s intelligent, yes it’s politically aware if not necessarily active. We wanted to create the essence of what it means to be a Citizen of Now. We wanted to create not just a moment, but a message, a message in fragrant form that says ‘hello world – now smell me.’

“It’s like an aromatic tweet for the 21st century socially networked bi-cultural electro-parent. On ice.”

G-spot will be available from The Guardian’s website as well as selected vintage clothing outlets and blogger-friendly organic juice bars across the Hoxton area of London.

The guys hosted a party to celebrate their labor of love on top of London’s Gherkin building on June 6. “It’s quite a sweet smell without it being too strong, it’s quite subtle. Former Baseball Player Jose Canseco has invented a manfume.

Yep, a perfume for men. You know, like cologne, but with some extra femininity. Or maybe it’s like a perfume, but with some extra manliness. Whatever it is, it’s weird, it contains dragon blood, and if you want to buy a case of it you’ll have to contact Canseco’s agent directly. Oh, it can also transfer Canceco’s powers to you when you wear it.

Jose Canseco Manfume Contains Dragon Blood, Magical Properties  The former baseball player explained the new fragrance on Twitter.

Speaking of ingredients, the other three “secret ingredients” are odors from our collective youth and according to Canseco, they will transfer the baseball player’s powers to us when we wear his manfume. What could those ingredients be? Steroids? Is Jose Canseco trying to sell a dragon blood perfume laced with steroids?

The Post Workout Bad Smell, Ammonia And How To Beat It

Exercise reaps many positive benefits: increased energy, improved cardiovascular health, reduced risk of diabetes, a sharper mind, and even a better sex life. But there’s one fitness by-product you could probably live without: body odor. While nobody smells powder fresh after hitting the gym, you can exacerbate the stench with habits such as wearing the wrong clothes or eating certain foods. Read on to discover six surprising reasons your workout is making you stink, and how to make it more pleasant for you (and those around you).

The chemical make-up of ammonia is NH3. This means that there is one Nitrogen atom bound to three Hydrogen atoms. Ammonia can be a weak acid or a weak base, depending on what type of chemical it is suspended in. The bad news, ammonia has a strong, pungent odor that is easily recognizable in cleaning products, cat urine, and, for some people, sweat!

The key to avoiding that ammonia smell is to ingest sufficient carbohydrates. If you eat an ample amount of carbohydrate with every meal, then you should have plenty to fuel your exercise activity. Even people who work out on an empty stomach should have some glucose in their bloodstream upon rising - unless they subscribe to the myth that cutting out carbohydrates before bed helps you lose fat. If you find that the ammonia smell persists (even when you consume carbohydrate with every meal), try having a low glycemic carbohydrate before you workout.

Do not

  1. Wear Antiperspirant
  2. Wear Spandex
  3. Forget To wash Your Gym Bag
  4. Eat Cereal/Beans Before You Hit the Gym
  5. Wait Until You Get Home to Shower
  6. Use the wrong footwear.
  7. Ignore hydration, get some water, rids the body of excess ammonia, such as urine and sweat.
A little oatmeal, a small apple, or even a piece of sprouted grain bread can provide the fuel that your body needs. Remember, your body requires fuel to burn fat! So don't think that providing some carbs before cardio is going to eliminate the fat burning process.

know you your Body and know that an apple a day can help keep the ammonia smell away!

India Cricket Captain Launches New Perfume

Why not, they have Bollywood  that can make some of the most movies, shooting a perfume commercial would be like walking in the park. Plus, the hot weather and the spices make India a perfect market. Keep on mind India is a rich land where many fragrances were born first--thanks to the spice, essential oils, and colors.

One can hit a maximum of six runs on a ball in cricket. But it was “7 by MS Dhoni” – the Indian cricket captain in Dubai last week - off-the-field.

The Indian captain was in Dubai last week to launch a new fragrance for men. The fragrance has been named after his lucky jersey number “7". Dhoni said: “Perfumes, much like cricket, are a product of passion. "I have been passionate about perfumes and with the launch of‘’7 by MS Dhoni’ my focus has been to share my personal preferences when it comes to perfumes.

The process of creating a brand is far more challenging than endorsing one. I put in tremendous time and effort for my inaugural line of perfumes.” he said. For “7 by MS Dhoni”, the cricketer said he has been personally involved in the development of the fragrances, with several new lines to be rolled out in the coming months. The inaugural line of fragrances by “Captain Cool,” includes six body sprays for men, with several new products for men and women to be introduced shortly.

Fresh, long-lasting and with a global appeal, the new line has been created through careful research by renowned international perfumers. "Working closely with them was a true learning experience for me too and I look forward to creating innovative new lines under the ‘7 by MS Dhoni’ brand,” he said. Dhoni is reportedly one of the richest players in India – endorsing a number of brands.

Dhoni’s new perfume range will be available in UAE, India and other parts of the world through a network of franchises soon. The good news as India gets richer, people can spend more on things like cologne and beauty products.

Car maker Bentley Has This New Limited Edition Fragrance

Folks who buy fancy cars, appreciate fine things in life, things like watches, scarves, and leather bags are a hot commodity. Fragrance is also another item that car companies has branded and made exclusive for those men who like to make statements. The British car manufacturer Bentley is joining the ranks by releasing a new manly fragrance.

Bentley announced the release of a fragrance line for men. As the automaker’s first luxury fragrance, it brings together two world-renowned brands, including Lalique, a master French crystal maker. “This collaboration has allowed the transportation of Bentley brand core attributes into luxury fragrance,” said Lindsay Weaver, Director of Licensing at Bentley Motors. ‘Lalique for Bentley Crystal Edition’ has been developed by Mylène Alran, from the French perfume house Robertet, and is said to smell of fine woody notes and exquisite leather. Further notes are added by precious orris butter which adds a sensual and charismatic character to the scent.

The crystal falcon topped off by the legendary ‘Flying B’ Bentley mascot matches that on the company’s flagship Mulsanne saloon, although presumably it would look out of place if fitted to anything less stately.

Bentley’s scent collection also includes a men’s line with upscale fragrances, after shave balm, and shampoo. “Bentley for Men,” created by the perfume house Firmenich, smells of “fine wood and leather notes,” while “Bentley for Men Intense” adds the scent of African geranium to the mix, because everyone knows geranium and leather is the key to a woman’s heart.

The fragrance itself is a work of art. But more impressive than that is the packaging, the bespoke ‘Lalique for Bentley Crystal Edition’, an impressive crystal flacon with the legendary ‘Flying B’ Bentley mascot. True to Bentley’s traditions, you get the classic ‘fine wood and leather notes’ scents with this fragrance. There is also an ‘Intense’ version that features with aromatic African geranium.

The bottle is finely wrought in gleaming crystal, with the “Flying B” Bentley mascot featured on the front. Bentley says the fragrance itself has fine woody notes and orris butter accord, creating a sensual and charismatic character. If that gets your motor going, it’ll cost you $4600 US dollars. Both fragrances will be available from April 2013, with the ‘Lalique for Bentley Crystal Edition’ limited to only 999 pieces.

Pricing for the ‘Lalique for Bentley Crystal Edition’ ranges from roughly $4,650, with the ‘Bentley for Men’ fragrance costing $70 for a 60 ml bottle, $92 for a 100 ml bottle, and the ‘Bentley for Men Intense’ fragrance costing $107 for a 100 ml bottle. Also available are an after shave balm and hair and body shampoo, priced at $50 and $40, respectively. The collection will be limited to 999 pieces and will only be available at select retailers beginning in April 2013. They see there's a market and I think they are right to price them the way they did.

The blade runner had been featured since 2011 in advertisements for the "A*Men" fragrance of the Thierry Mugler brand, part of the Clarins group. Pistorius rejects the charge of murder in the shooting of his 29-year-old girlfriend, model Reeva Steenkamp, on Valentine's Day.

"Out of respect and compassion for the families implicated in this tragedy, Thierry Mugler Perfumes has taken the decision to withdraw all its campaigns with Oscar Pistorius," the group said in a statement.

Several campaigns featuring Pistorius have been withdrawn since his arrest last week, with sports giant Nike and sunglasses maker Oakley also cutting ties with the athlete.
