YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A man stopped along the Ohio Turnpike is facing felony charges after troopers find more than 1,700 counterfeit items, including purses, headphones, perfume and more.
The cargo van was stopped for an improper lane change on the Ohio Turnpike in Mahoning County at 6:26 p.m. on March 27.
The driver, from New York, was found to have two active felony warrants for counterfeit simulation and trademark counterfeiting. He was taken into custody.
A search of the van netted 252 counterfeit purses, 55 counterfeit pocket books, 80 pairs of counterfeit Dr. Dre Beats headphones, 204 bottles of counterfeit perfume, 292 counterfeit T-shirts and sweatshirts, 240 counterfeit hats and 582 pairs of counterfeit sunglasses.
Man Zhang, 30, of Woodside, N.Y., is behind bars in the Mahoning County Jail, charged with trademark counterfeiting and criminal simulation.
