Four arrested in shoplifting of 40 perfume bottles in OV

Three women and one teen who were part of a shoplifting ring stole $3,500 worth of perfume from an Oro Valley store, a police official said.

Diana Jones, 20, Reshava Young, 21, Leshaun McGee, 20, and a teen girl, all from Maricopa County, were arrested Friday after stealing 40 bottles of perfume from the Ulta store at 11875 N. Oracle Road, near Catalina State Park, the official said.

Each of the women is facing felony charges of organized retail theft and shoplifting with an artifice, Lt. Kara Riley, spokeswoman for the Oro Valley Police Department, said in a news release.

In a theft Riley called "pretty brazen," the women walked into the store, grabbed the perfume and walked out.

Witnesses were able to provide a description of their car as the suspects drove away, and Oro Valley officers tracked them down within 30 minutes, Riley said.

In the car, officers found merchandise from other Oro Valley businesses, Riley said, and detectives suspect they have stolen from other stores in the Tucson and Phoenix areas.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to call 911, 88-CRIME or the Oro Valley Police Department at 229-4900.
