Harrods' Perfume Explosion

Harrods has pulled out the big guns for its month of perfumery. Starting on August 22, the luxury department store's Fragrance Explosion event will welcome some of the most famous names in modern perfume through its beauty doors.

With talks and tutorials, workshops and interviews, Harrods will officially turn itself into a perfume Mecca. Where a bottle can entice, and a perfume leave you hooked, it is the nose behind each scent that will inspire you - as anyone who has been lucky enough to meet a perfumer will tell you.

On September 5, Thierry Wasser, Guerlain's great in-house perfumer, will be taking through the stories behind his beautiful fragrances which include La Petite Robe Noir and Idylle.

On September 9, Camille Goutal, daughter of Annick and now the artistic creator of her late mother's eponymous perfume brand, will be telling the story of her fragrances through flowers; meanwhile Oliver Creed will be interviewed about his beautiful brand of fragrances on September 17.

We're also marking out September 3 in our diaries for the Jo Malone masterclass and very British afternoon tea along with Chanel's perfume-inspired evening of macaroons on September 16.
