Car maker Bentley Has This New Limited Edition Fragrance

Folks who buy fancy cars, appreciate fine things in life, things like watches, scarves, and leather bags are a hot commodity. Fragrance is also another item that car companies has branded and made exclusive for those men who like to make statements. The British car manufacturer Bentley is joining the ranks by releasing a new manly fragrance.

Bentley announced the release of a fragrance line for men. As the automaker’s first luxury fragrance, it brings together two world-renowned brands, including Lalique, a master French crystal maker. “This collaboration has allowed the transportation of Bentley brand core attributes into luxury fragrance,” said Lindsay Weaver, Director of Licensing at Bentley Motors. ‘Lalique for Bentley Crystal Edition’ has been developed by Mylène Alran, from the French perfume house Robertet, and is said to smell of fine woody notes and exquisite leather. Further notes are added by precious orris butter which adds a sensual and charismatic character to the scent.

The crystal falcon topped off by the legendary ‘Flying B’ Bentley mascot matches that on the company’s flagship Mulsanne saloon, although presumably it would look out of place if fitted to anything less stately.

Bentley’s scent collection also includes a men’s line with upscale fragrances, after shave balm, and shampoo. “Bentley for Men,” created by the perfume house Firmenich, smells of “fine wood and leather notes,” while “Bentley for Men Intense” adds the scent of African geranium to the mix, because everyone knows geranium and leather is the key to a woman’s heart.

The fragrance itself is a work of art. But more impressive than that is the packaging, the bespoke ‘Lalique for Bentley Crystal Edition’, an impressive crystal flacon with the legendary ‘Flying B’ Bentley mascot. True to Bentley’s traditions, you get the classic ‘fine wood and leather notes’ scents with this fragrance. There is also an ‘Intense’ version that features with aromatic African geranium.

The bottle is finely wrought in gleaming crystal, with the “Flying B” Bentley mascot featured on the front. Bentley says the fragrance itself has fine woody notes and orris butter accord, creating a sensual and charismatic character. If that gets your motor going, it’ll cost you $4600 US dollars. Both fragrances will be available from April 2013, with the ‘Lalique for Bentley Crystal Edition’ limited to only 999 pieces.

Pricing for the ‘Lalique for Bentley Crystal Edition’ ranges from roughly $4,650, with the ‘Bentley for Men’ fragrance costing $70 for a 60 ml bottle, $92 for a 100 ml bottle, and the ‘Bentley for Men Intense’ fragrance costing $107 for a 100 ml bottle. Also available are an after shave balm and hair and body shampoo, priced at $50 and $40, respectively. The collection will be limited to 999 pieces and will only be available at select retailers beginning in April 2013. They see there's a market and I think they are right to price them the way they did.
