Rooney Mara’s commercial for Calvin Klein’s new fragrance Downtown debuted today. The black-and-white short film was shot by David Fincher, who previously directed Mara in The Girl With a Dragon Tattoo and The Social Network.
Set in New York City, Rooney takes us on a black and white journey from a coffee shop and walking the subway platform to her life as Hollywood star on film sets and press conferences. Through it all, Rooney pulls off polish and glam with her now signature punk-chic vibe. The fragrance is slated to hit select international markets this month, and will be available on our shelves October 22!
And while the fragrance won't hit shelves until September, we're confident that Mara's loyal following will be lining up for a bottle of their own in no time. Until then, we've got a sneak peek of the cool campaign coming soon!
In this exclusive video, we caught a glimpse of the making of the upcoming commercial, shot in black and white by none other than The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo director David Fincher.
Needless to say, it's cinematic magic once again! Fincher and Mara are a match made in heaven and we're absolutely loving the look of this shoot.
