Death By Perfume In Pennsylvania

A Pennsylvania man who allegedly poured perfume on a woman and set her on fire in an apparent domestic dispute Thursday morning remains at large, police said.

Allegheny County Police identified the suspect as 27-year-old Clinton Cohen and said police are looking for him, he is at large. Police said the woman, Maria Redman, was severely burned inside a Pittsburgh Street apartment shortly before 7 a.m. Police said the woman was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital in critical condition.

Police said the couple's infant daughter was in a crib when her mother was choked, beaten and burned. The woman is hospitalized with severe burns on her head and torso. Police say Cohen’s criminal history is “extensive” and he’s a danger to the public as long as he’s at-large. Redman suffered severe burns on her upper body and head and remains in critical condition, according to KDKA-TV.

"While this whole thing was going on, she was in the room," Lt. Jeff Korczyk said. "In fact, the child had some blood on her from her mother." Allegheny County detectives are investigating the case with Springdale police. Cohen has been charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of children.

This is a sad day for people who like perfume when something so nice and so intimate gets used as a weapon. You can no longer say, this is a hot fragrance, or you are on fire. I wish the victim well and hope this situation get resolved.
