Perfume Theft On Valentine Day Not So Romantic

Some people get perfume on Valentine day, others buy it to give out on this lovey dovey day. But A New Jersey Pair likes their perfume stolen. Pair stole $2k of perfume from Rockaway mall on Valentine's day, cops say. Maybe stealing stuff is their creative and twisted idea for romantic activities.

A New York City pair was caught backing out of the Rockaway Townsquare mall parking lot after swiping 36 bottles of cologne worth $2,144 from Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister, police said.

Officer Jay Elko responded to the upper level of JC Penney's parking lot for a report of suspicious activity at about 2 p.m. Feb. 14, according to police. Hollister's loss prevention manager told Elko he believed two people who were in the store earlier on stuffed multiple bottles of cologne in a booster bag with Express written on it, police said.

Elko then spotted the pair exiting the mall. The woman — Shanetta Moore, 39, of The Bronx — was carrying a bag that matched the description of the one the manager had mentioned, police said.

The merchandise was collected at the scene, processed at the Rockaway Township police department, and returned to the stores, police said.

Moore and Cintron each were charged with receiving stolen property and possession of a booster bag. Moore was also charged with driving with a suspended registration and license. Her car was impounded, police said.

In this age, one cannot scratch himself without being filmed on camera somewhere, so if good character won't hold you back from stealing, being caught should deter you.
